Report about the Festival with Luis Palau which took place
in Madrid from June 24-25, 2005 ("FestiMadrid")

Decision served as the coordinating center of operations for FestiMadrid with Luis Palau.  The following is a summary of all that took place during this historical event.

Pre-Campaign

● 200 churches and more than 30 denominations participated

● 34 cities and towns of the Community of Madrid were involved

● Contacts and positive testimony with the Government, City Hall, city commissioners and politicians

● The demonstration in the Plaza de la Villa united 500 believers in prayer

● Finally, City Hall granted us the esplanade of the "Las Ventas" bullring

Publicity

● Buses: 10 double-decker, 300 in regular lines

● Trailer Truck

● Newspapers, Radio and TV (Christian)

● Mailboxes: 3,000,000 brochures with invitations and an evangelistic message

Work teams

● 14 Persons trained

● 2.500 Friends (counselors)

● 600 Ushers

● 50 Security

T-shirts

● Total 5000: 2300 orange, 1300 black, 300 red, 50 blue and 1000 for children

Orientation and training

● Orientation and training meetings: dozens

Prayer

● Fasts, Prayer Walks, Vigils

● Everyone united, united by zone

● Constant: days, hours, weeks

Operation Andrew

● 10,000 cards, by 10 people

Pre-Festival Meetings

● The "Pre-Festival" in the Centro Betel: more than 3,000 people (new attendance record in the facility)

● Women's Conference: 347 attendance, 94 prayed...

● Dinner for businesspersons and professionals: 328 attendance, 40 prayed...

Children's Festival (FestiNiños)

● Fair

● Mascot competition: more than 200

● Theater: Sir Bernard and "The twelve virtues of the knight": 7,000 attendance

● Exhibition by the Spanish champions of Freestyle BMX ("bicicross")

Blood drive

● Red Cross bus (mobile unit) at maximum from 17:00 to 21:00

Bottles of water for the tsunami

● All of the earnings from the sale of water, 500 euros, were targeted to help with various humanitarian projects for those affected by the tsunami.

Festival

● Friday: 25,000 to 35,000

● Saturday: 35,000 to 45,000

● Total response to the two invitations: 3,900

● Some from almost all of the 17 provinces and some visiting from other countries

Follow-up

● All of the cards were turned in to the churches to make the contacts.

● The new believers have been integrated into the churches through the effort and dedication to follow-up that each one put forth.

● There are very diverse reports, with differing results, but everyone is thankful to God for this evangelistic event which has been, to date, the one which has brought together the most people in the history of Spain.
